About Us
The Korn name has been synonymous with automotive sales and service in the Flathead valley for many years. It all started back in 1956 when Dan J. Korn purchased the Kalispell Buick dealership located where Chiao Interiors is now from Miles Johns. He then moved his dealership in 1965 south of town to 1212 South Main St. In 1969, Korn Buick acquired the Jeep franchise, and later in 1974 purchased American Motors located in Evergreen. He worked very hard building a great reputation for first class customer sales and service to valley residents. Dan had a son also named Dan, who later became known as D.J. to his customers; he served as shop service manager from 1987 through 1993. The business was then sold to Doug Scarff who renamed the dealership to ‘Scarff Auto Center’. D.J. remained as Scarff’s shop service manager from 1993 until 2002 when D.J. left the dealership to accept another job.
Dan (D.J.) Korn returned to his father’s dealership on Main St. to reopen it on March 8th 2010 as an independent auto/truck repair shop, along with specialty car consignments and sales (The Korner Shop).
